XPAND Assists Aspiring Healthcare Workers in Earning College Credits for Real-World Experience

XPAND and the American Association of Community Colleges (AACC) are collaborating with the American Council on Education to provide users with equivalent college credits for on-the-job training, military experience, and other formal courses and examinations taken outside of traditional degree programs. This information will be used as part of the Healthcare Virtual Career Platform (HVCP) in its mission to transition un‐ and under‐employed workers into careers in the healthcare field by assisting them to obtain the credentials they need to secure jobs in healthcare and healthcare‐related occupations.

XPAND Increases Web Portal Support of Infectious Disease Research
March 2011 – Reston, Virginia
XPAND has worked with the American Type Culture Collection (ATCC) and the National Institute of Health/ National Institute of Allergies and Infectious Diseases (NIH/NIAID) to enhance and transition the MID-BRR web portal onto a private virtual cloud environment. Post deployment, monthly maintenance hours were increased 300%, from 50 hours to 160 hours.
XPAND Obtains Authorization to Aid in Infectious Disease Research

In order to host the Microbiology and Infectious Diseases Research Reagent Resource (MID-BRR) web portal in a private virtual cloud environment, XPAND needed to secure a Medium Impact Authority to Operate (ATO) from the National Institute of Health/ National Institute of Allergies and Infectious Diseases (NIH/NIAID). The American Type Culture Collection (ATCC) sponsored a Certification and Accreditation (C&A) effort to accomplish this. XPAND completed this exercise in a record span of 3 months and secured an ATO. This is XPAND’s first Medium Impact ATO.
