DOLETA

doleta.jpgClient: U.S. Department of Labor's Employment and Training Administration

Summary Objective: The U.S. Department of Labor's Employment and Training Administration (ETA) manages unemployment insurance, employment services, job corps, job training programs through grant awards and many other programs that are related to employment. It needed improved communication with grantees and an Internet site for the dissemination of information to the grantees, to the public and to its employees and other workforce professionals.

Solution: ETA website and supplementary operations - XPAND’s first project with ETA was to meet its technological requirements with dial-in applications for grantees. XPAND then worked with ETA to launch its internet site and adjunct sites for Welfare-to-Work, Youth Grants, and Workforce Investment Act information. As new requirements are presented, XPAND meets them with its expertise in data collection and retrieval systems, database operations, creation of dynamic news and calendar products, online grants management operations, ListServs for news services, graphic design, document conversion, and fax on demand. XPAND provides its client content administrators with tools to manage user input and add items to dynamic features. It is responsible for complying with accessibility guidelines and Section 508 standards for government websites. XPAND on-site staff work directly with federal employees in many divisions of ETA to make their different program materials available on the Internet as soon as they are approved for publication. XPAND’s work with the Office of Human Resources website received the Vice-President’s Hammer award in 1999.
