Summary Objective: The farm work system is dependent on the labor supplied by a migratory workforce for many of its seasonal operations. The farm owners know when to expect these workers who follow the same routes in their search for work year after year. There is no allowance for a change of circumstances such as a late harvest or the need for more help. The U.S. Department of Agriculture and the U.S. Department of Labor joint effort requested a system for coordinating the need of farm owners for workers and the need of the farm laborers to find available work in the most efficient way to meet time-critical production efforts.

Solution: America's Agricultural Labor Network (AgWork)

AgWork is an online registry system for farm operators to list work openings and for farm workers to register and find work opportunities. XPAND developed the website in order to provide an easily accessible and timely source of information for both groups of users. The website includes a Social Security Number validation procedure and administrative control of data entries. The design of the pages is an original creation by the XPAND web design team.
